Arsenal are now preparing a new bid worth up to £40M for England international and Aston Villa defender Ezri Konsa, who is still yet to sign a new contract at Villa Park this summer.
Ezri Konsa has been on Arsenal's shortlist in recent months after William Saliba picked up an injury which could see the French international be out of action for atleast 3 months.
Ezri Konsa's contract at Aston Villa is set to expire in the summer of 2028, still yet to renew he is likely to leave Aston Villa this summer with multiple clubs keeping tabs on the 28-year olds situation.
Arsenal have been in direct talks with Aston Villa in recent weeks to conclude a deal but the financial gap between Arsenal and Aston Villa's valuation of the player is rather large, Aston Villa wont sell the player unless their demands of £60M are met. Personal terms are no issue as Ezri Konsa keen on Arsenal move.
With that said, Arsenal are preparing to launch a first bid worth £40M for the player.
The bid is expected to be rejected, but discussions between the two clubs will continue till a fee can be agreed suitable for both parties involved in the deal. There is anticipation from Arsenal that Aston Villa will reduce their asking price for Konsa as the summer transfer window reaches its conclusion in the next few weeks.
