Arsenal have reached a total agreement with Club Brugge to sign dynamic winger Christos Tzolis, with the Greek international now cleared to travel to London to finalize the move.

The Premier League champions have moved with immense speed to secure their next major addition of the summer window. Following a definitive breakthrough in club-to-club negotiations, the Gunners have shaken hands on a flat €40 million (£34 million) transfer fee. The historic deal shatters records on two fronts: it represents the highest departure fee ever received by a Belgian Pro League club, and it comfortably eclipses the previous national record to make Tzolis the most expensive Greek player in football history.

Personal terms were resolved rapidly behind the scenes, largely because Tzolis made the Emirates Stadium his absolute priority the moment Arsenal registered their interest. The 24-year-old has agreed to the framework of a long-term five-year contract keeping him in North London until June 2031.

While Arsenal maintain a strict, performance-incentivised wage structure for squad-depth signings, sources indicate Tzolis will slot into a highly sustainable tier, earning a base salary of approximately £75,000 per week. The package includes substantial financial bonuses tied directly to Premier League appearances, goal contributions, and Champions League progression.

With the club-to-club paperwork now undergoing final administrative validation, the formal schedule for the transfer has been locked in. Tzolis has been granted permission to travel to North London, where he is scheduled to undergo the first phase of his medical examinations on Friday morning at the club's training base.

Arsenal’s legal and media teams are racing against the clock to complete the registration process before the weekend. The objective is to have all administrative documentation submitted to the Premier League in time to allow Tzolis to board the plane with Mikel Arteta’s first-team squad for their upcoming pre-season tour.

The sudden acceleration of this pursuit is intrinsically tied to a significant outbound movement in the forward line. Veteran forward Leandro Trossard has been granted permission to finalise a permanent departure to Turkish Süper Lig giants Besiktas, creating an immediate vacancy on the left flank.

Arteta and sporting director Andrea Berta identified Tzolis as the ideal tactical successor. While Trossard relied on clever spatial awareness and operating in tight pockets, Tzolis offers a completely different, highly explosive dynamic.

Because Tzolis has maintained peak physical fitness throughout his summer training program, he will not require an extended introductory conditioning period.
